On August 20, Variety reported a new Matrix is in development by the Wachowski sister, who wrote and directed the original trilogy with her sister Lilly. Original stars Keanu Reeves (Neo) and Carrie-Ann Moss (Trinity) are confirmed to return in their original roles as Neo and Trinity. For the fourth installment, Wachowski worked with screenwriters Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell to pen the script. The film will be produced and distributed by Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow.
Plot details remain a mystery and production is expected to begin sometime in 2020.There are no confirmed dates as of yet.
